Modern Trade Manager

About the role

The Modern Trade Manager will lead and expand our presence in the modern trade channel, covering supermarkets, hypermarkets and minimarts. You will be responsible for setting sales targets, securing shelf visibility, negotiating terms and driving promotional effectiveness across key retail partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the annual modern trade strategy in line with brand objectives.
• Set and monitor sales, margin, distribution and share‑of‑shelf targets.
• Negotiate contracts, listing fees, promotional support and payment terms with chain retailers.
• Ensure product availability, correct assortment and optimal planogram compliance.
• Manage trade budgets, allocate spend for promotions and POS materials, and evaluate ROI.
• Lead, coach and evaluate a team of sales executives and merchandisers.
• Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, finance and logistics to guarantee product launch success and cost control.
• Collect and analyse shopper and market insights to adjust tactics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in modern trade, key‑account or FMCG (including alcoholic or beverage) sales.
• Proven ability to negotiate with supermarket chains and manage trade spend.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience interpreting sales data and market trends.
• Willingness to travel frequently across Phnom Penh and other provinces.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of merchandising, shelf‑space management and planograms.
• Experience budgeting trade promotions and measuring their effectiveness.
• Ability to translate shopper and market insights into actionable strategies.
