Supervisor, Database Administration

About the role

The Supervisor, Database Administration leads the organization’s database platform, ensuring data security, integrity, and optimal performance. This role designs long‑term strategies, oversees hardware and software maintenance, and drives projects that support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee Oracle Exadata and Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) hardware patching and maintenance.
• Lead database projects, from design to delivery, aligning with strategic goals.
• Perform database and SQL tuning, including RAC and Active Data Guard environments.
• Implement and manage backup, recovery, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Establish and enforce procedures, tablespace management, and audit trail policies.
• Monitor performance, measure changes after modifications, and ensure SLA compliance.
• Manage privileged user access and profiles.
• Install, update, and patch Oracle database software.

Required profile

• Extensive experience administering Oracle databases, including Exadata, ODA, RAC, and Active Data Guard.
• Strong knowledge of Unix command‑line operations.
• Proven ability to design and execute backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Demonstrated experience with performance monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning.
