Dentist Subject Matter Expert (Remote Contractor)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced dentist to join our AI data services team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). Working remotely on an hourly contract, you will evaluate and improve AI‑generated dental content, ensuring clinical accuracy, safety, and clarity.

Key responsibilities

• Create high‑quality prompts and gold‑standard answers covering oral health, diagnosis, treatment planning, emergencies, prescribing, and patient counseling.
• Review AI‑generated responses, rating them for correctness, reasoning quality, safety, and consistency.
• Identify and flag diagnostic errors, unsafe recommendations, contraindications, and bias in AI outputs.
• Fact‑check dental and medical information and write detailed explanations that model proper clinical reasoning.
• Provide written feedback to help improve AI model performance across diverse patient scenarios.

Required profile

• DDS/DMD (or equivalent) with an active dental license (or eligibility).
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in general, hospital, community, or specialty dentistry.
• Strong clinical reasoning skills, including differential diagnosis, red‑flag recognition, and triage decision‑making.
• Excellent written English (minimum C1 proficiency) for clear documentation and feedback.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of oral disease processes (caries, periodontal disease, endodontic pathology, oral lesions).
• Expertise in treatment planning, dental materials, and procedural fundamentals.
• Ability to evaluate clinical content for safety, contraindications, medication risks, and radiographic interpretation.
