National Nutrition Programme Capacity Strengthening Consultant

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a national consultant to provide embedded technical and implementation support to Cambodia's Ministry of Health National Nutrition Programme (NNP) for an 11‑month period. The consultant will work closely with the NNP Head and UNICEF contract management to strengthen national ownership of nutrition initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen NNP’s capacity to plan and coordinate nutrition capacity‑strengthening activities.
• Translate national technical guidance into practical, accessible learning approaches.
• Support implementation through coaching, supportive supervision, and on‑the‑job training.
• Enhance NNP’s ability to review, interpret and use research, evidence and programme data for decision‑making.
• Provide methodological, analytical and implementation support to reduce reliance on external technical assistance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in national nutrition programmes, including MIYCN, IMAM, GMP, maternal nutrition and community nutrition.
• Demonstrated capacity‑strengthening experience with government ministries or large NGOs.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with programme data and evidence.
• Excellent communication and coaching abilities to support staff at all levels.
