Senior Biostatistician – Epidemiology & Public Health

About the role

The Institut Pasteur du Cambodge is seeking a Senior Biostatistician to lead statistical work for large‑scale epidemiological research. The role sits within the Methodology and Data Analysis Group of the Epidemiology and Public Health Unit and supports both observational and interventional studies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement statistical analysis plans for multi‑partner research projects.
• Conduct complex data analyses, ensuring methodological rigor and reproducibility.
• Advise investigators on study design, sample size calculations, and analytical strategies.
• Supervise junior data analysts and PhD students, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
• Contribute to scientific publications, research proposals, and grant reports.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field.
• Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) in statistical analysis of epidemiological data.
• Proven ability to lead methodological work independently in a collaborative research environment.
• Strong communication skills to interact with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.

Required skills

• Expertise in statistical methodology for observational and interventional studies.
• Experience with study design, sample size determination, and development of analysis plans.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior analysts and graduate students.
