Remote Laotian to English Medical Interpreter

About the role

INTELEX is looking for a skilled Medical Interpreter fluent in Laotian and English to work 100% remotely. You will enable clear communication between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate exchanges in medical settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for medical appointments.
• Use correct medical terminology and maintain HIPAA‑compliant confidentiality.
• Support both on‑demand (OPI/VRI) and scheduled interpretation sessions.
• Document interpretation notes as required.

Required profile

• 6 months to 3 years of professional interpretation experience.
• Proven expertise in medical (or legal) interpretation.
• High level of listening, note‑taking, and memory retention.
• Availability for flexible shifts, including 24/7 coverage.

Required skills

• Fluency in Laotian and English.
• Ability to perform simultaneous and consecutive interpretation.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
