Intellectual Property Expert

About the role

We are looking for a remote, hourly contractor to serve as an Intellectual Property (IP) Subject Matter Expert. You will review AI‑generated IP/legal responses, create high‑quality IP content, and provide precise written feedback to improve AI model reasoning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training content such as detailed prompts, issue analyses, clause rewrites, checklists, and policy‑style guidance.
• Evaluate and rank AI responses for accuracy, clarity, completeness, and risk awareness.
• Test AI outputs for errors, misleading certainty, confidentiality risks, and bias across IP scenarios.
• Fact‑check IP concepts, provide citations when required, and write model answers that demonstrate correct reasoning.

Required profile

• JD/LLB (or equivalent) with active bar membership (or eligibility) in at least one jurisdiction; registration to practice before a patent office is a plus.
• 5+ years of professional experience in IP law (copyright, trademark, patent, trade secrets, or licensing) in a law firm, in‑house, or government setting.
• Strong IP issue‑spotting and structured analysis skills, including rights, scope, ownership, infringement, defenses, and remedies.
• Experience drafting and reviewing IP agreements such as NDAs, license agreements, work‑for‑hire, and open‑source licensing.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate complex IP concepts in plain English (minimum C1 proficiency).
