Distribution Center Auto Order Assistant Manager

About the role

The Distribution Center Auto Order Assistant Manager leads the demand forecasting process, ensures inventory availability and optimises stock levels across the distribution network. This role works closely with supply planning, merchandising, operations and store teams to meet business targets and improve the customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the monthly/weekly rolling forecast for assigned categories, analysing sales trends, promotions, seasonality and market factors.
• Collaborate with merchandising, marketing and finance to incorporate business insights into forecast assumptions and continuously improve forecasting models.
• Monitor forecast vs. actual sales, conduct root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions with cross‑functional teams.
• Review store‑level performance metrics such as in‑stock rate, OSA, stock cover, sell‑through and service level; develop action plans to address replenishment issues.
• Track daily/weekly out‑of‑stock reports, identify root causes and work with supply planners, warehouses and suppliers to prevent shortages.
• Analyse overstock trends, recommend allocation adjustments, stock transfers, markdowns and SKU rationalisation to reduce inventory holding costs.
• Prepare forecasting dashboards, inventory health reports and KPI summaries for management review using analytical tools.
• Supervise and develop demand planners and analysts, ensuring accurate forecasting and effective inventory management.
