Director of Engineering

About the role

The Director of Engineering will lead Accor’s hotel engineering team, ensuring the highest standards of operational excellence, safety, and guest satisfaction across all facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the engineering team to deliver reliable hotel operations.
• Oversee maintenance and reliability of MEP systems, HVAC, fire & life safety, guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house operations.
• Design and implement preventive maintenance programmes to maximise asset performance.
• Manage departmental budgets, capital‑expenditure projects and contractor relationships.
• Drive energy‑efficiency, sustainability initiatives and ensure environmental compliance.
• Guarantee compliance with local regulations, health and safety standards and Accor brand requirements.
• Collaborate with the Executive Committee to align engineering activities with the hotel’s strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of progressive engineering leadership experience, including senior management in a luxury hotel or resort.
• Strong technical expertise in hotel engineering systems and facilities management.
• Proven track record managing capital projects, budgets and preventive maintenance programmes.
• Excellent leadership, communication and people‑development skills.
• Strategic thinker with strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Passion for sustainability, innovation and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
