Deputy Head of Recovery and Litigation Department

About the role

The Deputy Head of Recovery and Litigation assists the Head in managing loan recovery and litigation activities for past-due (PAR) and written-off loans across all branches. The role covers recovery strategies, legal follow-up and collection targets, and supports the supervision of the Recovery and Litigation team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end collection process for PAR and written-off loan portfolios across branches.
• Support recovery strategies, including issuing, following up and tracking formal demand letters, and preparing and filing court cases.
• Help develop and implement recovery strategies and action plans for PAR and written-off accounts.
• Coordinate the legal recovery process: prepare and file claims, monitor court proceedings and follow up with internal teams and external legal counsel.
• Monitor, analyse and report branch-level performance against collection targets, identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
• Share best practices and lessons learned across the branch network.
• Ensure ethical, professional and respectful client communication to protect the company's reputation.
• Review the status of litigation and recovery matters and update the Head promptly.
• Supervise and coordinate the Recovery and Litigation team so tasks are completed on time.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Finance and Banking, Management or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of field experience in loan recovery and litigation, with a significant part focused on banking and debt recovery law.
• Deep understanding of banking regulations, credit risk management and insolvency laws, and of the legal framework for recovering written-off loans.
