Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant is responsible for the hotel's financial management, accounting and internal controls, and for leading the accounting team. The role also supports the General Manager and department heads with financial insights and maintains relationships with owners, suppliers, auditors and regulators.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial reports, budgets, forecasts and variance analyses to support business decisions and meet financial targets.
• Ensure accurate monthly account reconciliations, financial records, hotel billing, accounts payable, credit control and collection of overdue accounts.
• Implement financial control procedures, monitor operating costs and inventories, identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure compliance with accounting standards and government regulations.
• Supervise, coach and develop accounting team members, assign responsibilities and monitor performance.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to the General Manager and department heads, support pricing strategies, and maintain effective relationships with owners, suppliers, auditors and regulatory authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hotel accounting or internal audit experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role, or equivalent experience.
• Fluent in English.
