Assistant Manager – Collections

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Collections will support the bank in managing delinquent loan accounts, ensuring timely repayments and mitigating credit risk. You will act as a liaison between borrowers, legal partners, and internal teams to drive effective recovery actions.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up with customers on outstanding payments and monitor non‑performing loans.
• Communicate with delinquent borrowers, negotiate and establish repayment plans.
• Issue reminders for arrears and conduct site visits or calls to secure payments.
• Advise borrowers on their legal liabilities under loan agreements.
• Coordinate with panel lawyers to issue Notices of Demand and Recall, and track litigation until closure.
• Explore out‑of‑court strategies and potential property sales to settle loans.
• Report credit‑risk issues promptly to management and participate in solution‑focused meetings.
• Prepare daily action reports and monthly performance reports for senior management.
• Attend internal and external training to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in bad‑debt collection, recovery, credit review, or reporting.
• Strong negotiation, persuasion and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a matrix environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
