Supervisor – Research & Development (Food Industry)

About the role

The Supervisor, Research and Development leads product and process innovation for a food company, ensuring new noodle cake, seasoning and oil recipes meet customer expectations, regulatory standards, and company goals. The role combines technical research, risk assessment, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Perform risk assessments on ingredients, raw materials and packaging.
• Manage product development inventories, specifications and safety data sheets.
• Establish and evaluate specifications for ingredients, packaging and finished products to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Liaise with suppliers for samples, testing and technical documentation.
• Prepare methodology and materials for new recipe development (noodle cake, seasoning powder, oil).
• Develop SOPs, work instructions, process flows and coach staff.
• Collaborate with relevant functions to resolve customer issues, conduct root‑cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Lead the team to achieve product development goals while complying with food laws and regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science & Technology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Agro‑Industry or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the food and beverage industry.
• Strong accountability, result‑orientation and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food regulations, especially nutritional labeling.
• Understanding of food ingredient functions and food safety systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001, GMP and HACCP standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Statistics).
• Experience conducting risk assessments.
