Legal Specialist – Corporate & Compliance

About the role

The Legal Specialist supports KOFI Group by providing practical legal, regulatory and compliance advice to protect the company’s interests and enable compliant business operations. The role involves drafting and reviewing contracts, monitoring Cambodian laws, and assisting with dispute and case management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on commercial, employment, corporate, property, procurement and operational matters, translating regulations into business guidance.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring terms protect KOFI’s interests and comply with internal approval processes.
• Monitor changes in Cambodian legislation, maintain compliance registers, and prepare updates for management.
• Support corporate governance by preparing resolutions, registrations, licenses and maintaining organized legal files.
• Assist in dispute, claim and case management, coordinating with external counsel and authorities.
• Advise HR on employment contracts, disciplinary actions, labor law compliance and support labor inspections.
• Identify and escalate material legal and compliance risks, and deliver awareness sessions as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) or related field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• 5–7 years of experience in legal advisory, corporate law, commercial contracts or compliance, preferably in FMCG, agriculture or multi‑site environments.
• Strong knowledge of Cambodian commercial, corporate, labor, property and licensing laws.
• Demonstrated ability to draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements.
