Legal Expert (Remote Contractor)

About the role

We are looking for a remote, hourly contractor to review AI‑generated legal analyses and to create expert legal content. The work involves evaluating reasoning quality, spotting issues step‑by‑step, fact‑checking citations, and providing clear written feedback that improves the accuracy and clarity of AI legal reasoning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training content by crafting detailed prompts and model responses across a range of legal topics.
• Evaluate and rank AI outputs to enhance model accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance.
• Test AI models for potential inaccuracies or biases, ensuring reliability across use cases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Law (JD/LLB), Legal Studies, Public Policy, or Political Science with solid grounding in constitutional, contract, tort, criminal, civil procedure, and regulatory law.
• 5+ years of professional experience in law, legal studies, public policy, or related fields.
• Strong legal reasoning and issue‑spotting skills, including statutory interpretation, case analysis, and translating facts into legal elements.
• Exceptional attention to detail when checking rule statements, citations, jurisdictional relevance, procedural posture, and logical consistency.
• Minimum C1 English proficiency and ability to write clear, structured feedback.
• Reliable, self‑directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote workflow across time zones.
• Previous experience with AI data training, annotation, expert review, legal editing, or quality assurance is strongly preferred.
