Legal Officer

About the role

The Legal Officer is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Anlong Vil, providing legal support to United Mercury Group’s operations in Cambodia. The role involves drafting, reviewing and organizing legal documents and contracts while ensuring compliance with Cambodian laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of contracts and legal agreements.
• Ensure all business activities comply with relevant Cambodian legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Provide legal consulting to business units on commercial matters, risk mitigation and dispute resolution.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise management on necessary adjustments.
• Coordinate with external legal partners when specialized advice is required.
• Maintain accurate legal records, documentation and filing systems.
• Collaborate with management and other departments to develop and implement policies protecting the company’s legal interests.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of law and business law with the ability to apply legal principles to commercial activities.
• Experience in contract law and legal document preparation, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements.
• Background in legal consulting, providing practical advice to internal stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in law or a closely related field.
• Familiarity with Cambodian legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to commercial and industrial operations.
• Excellent analytical, research and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate across departments.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and professional ethics.
• Ability to work on‑site and manage multiple tasks within deadlines.
