Senior Legal Manager

About the role

The Senior Legal Manager provides high‑level legal advice and strategic guidance to the bank’s management and business units. This role ensures that legal risks are identified, mitigated, and aligned with the bank’s commercial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal advisory on banking operations, products, services and major business initiatives, assessing legal implications and recommending mitigation measures.
• Oversee contract management, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating and finalising complex, high‑value agreements and maintaining standard legal templates.
• Manage disputes, litigation and debt‑recovery matters, coordinating external counsel, monitoring case strategies, costs and outcomes, and representing the bank before courts and authorities.
• Monitor regulatory changes, conduct legal impact assessments, and provide guidance on compliance, corporate filings, licences and regulator liaison.
• Support the Head of Legal in implementing the legal function’s strategy, coaching team members, identifying emerging risks and strengthening collaboration with business units.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognised university (Master’s degree in Law, Business Law or Commercial Law is an advantage).
• Admission to the Bar or equivalent professional qualification.
• Proven senior‑level experience in banking or financial services legal environments.
