Laboratory Programs Manager

About the role

The Laboratory Programs Manager provides academic leadership for medical laboratory programs, ensuring high‑quality teaching, assessment, and laboratory operations. Working closely with the Dean of Health Sciences & Biotechnology, faculty, and support staff, the manager drives curriculum implementation and oversees the learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate courses, competencies, and academic activities for medical laboratory programs.
• Support teaching delivery in collaboration with lecturers and academic staff.
• Schedule, monitor, and track teaching and learning activities.
• Lead curriculum review, course outline updates, and teaching quality improvement.
• Oversee student learning outcomes, assessment documentation, and reporting.
• Participate in internal quality assurance and student evaluation processes.
• Manage academic activities such as examinations (IEE/OSCE), student records, and stakeholder communications.
• Provide oversight of laboratory readiness, equipment availability, safety compliance, and resource sufficiency.
• Coordinate medical waste handling, safety reporting, and compliance documentation.

Required profile

• Experience in academic program coordination or management within health‑science education.
• Familiarity with curriculum development, assessment design, and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to collaborate with faculty, students, and operational staff.

Required skills

• Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., UPERP).
• Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and equipment management.
• Understanding of medical waste handling and compliance documentation.
