Director of Engineering – Platform, DevOps & SRE

About the role

Lead platform engineering strategy and oversee DevOps/SRE at a top Cambodian bank, driving automation, team leadership, and innovation. Shape technology direction, foster a strong engineering culture, and ensure scalability and reliability of platform services.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the Internal Developer Platform strategy and product roadmap, ensuring self‑service, standardized CI/CD, and clear documentation for engineers.
• Automate the development lifecycle to reduce manual work and increase efficiency across all teams.
• Manage, mentor, and expand DevOps/SRE teams, emphasizing ownership and strong automation focus.
• Oversee hiring, succession planning, and performance management to grow engineering leadership.
• Enable platform adoption through training and knowledge‑sharing, not central control.
• Report platform performance, risk, and budget to senior leadership, aligning with business needs.
• Champion adoption of AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot) for workflow and CI/CD optimization.
• Define robust, scalable CI/CD architecture and enforce automated quality, testing, and security gates.

Required profile

• At least 10 years in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering, with 5+ years in leadership over multiple teams.
• Proven ability to define and realize engineering/infrastructure strategy at large scale.
• Extensive experience building and operating scalable distributed systems with architectural influence.
• Led the creation and rollout of internal developer/self‑service platforms.
• Track record of improving SDLC metrics such as lead time, deployment frequency, and MTTR.
