Internal Audit Director

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Internal Audit Director to lead our internal audit function, develop the audit strategy and annual plan, and strengthen governance, risk management and internal controls across the organization. The role reports to senior management and the Audit Committee and is responsible for building a high‑performing audit team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the internal audit strategy and annual audit plan to enhance governance, risk management and internal controls.
• Lead internal audit engagements and risk‑based reviews to identify control gaps and reduce business risks.
• Evaluate internal controls, financial processes and operational procedures for effectiveness, compliance and accountability.
• Assess key and emerging business risks, providing timely recommendations to strengthen risk mitigation.
• Review audit findings and management action plans to ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
• Report significant audit issues and risk exposures to senior management and the Audit Committee.
• Develop the internal audit team and professional capabilities to maintain high‑quality, independent audit services.
• Monitor compliance with internal policies, regulations and professional auditing standards to promote a strong culture of governance and integrity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent is an advantage.
• 10+ years of experience in internal audit, risk or compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
• Strong leadership, team management and stakeholder communication skills.
• Deep knowledge of internal controls, risk management and governance frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and professional judgment abilities.
