Team Leader / Supervisor - Laser Cutting

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Team Leader to supervise our laser cutting operations. In this role you will coordinate daily production, ensure machine performance, and support a safe, high‑quality work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise laser cutting machines and work areas.
• Plan and allocate daily workloads to meet production schedules.
• Monitor machine performance and optimise line operation.
• Create programs for new products using existing nesting software.
• Supervise changeovers and setups.
• Conduct quality checks with measuring equipment to verify component specifications.
• Assist in troubleshooting production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks to prevent downtime.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area in line with company policies.
• Train and mentor team members to improve skills and performance.
• Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and logistics teams to ensure smooth workflow.
• Report on production metrics, downtime, and improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Previous supervisory or team‑lead experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (preferred).
• Experience with laser cutting machines, preferably in steel fabrication (not essential).
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Willingness to learn and commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Basic computer literacy (production reporting systems, email).
• Intermediate competency in English (preferred, not essential).
