Senior Accounting Consultant

About the role

The Senior Accounting Consultant will deliver comprehensive accounting services to a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with applicable standards. The role involves supervising junior staff and acting as the primary point of contact for client accounting needs.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger, process accounts payable/receivable, and perform bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Execute journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and perform analytical reviews.
• Communicate with clients to gather information, resolve accounting issues and meet deadlines.
• Review and approve workpapers prepared by junior staff before submission.
• Escalate complex matters to senior management as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA or CPA is preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within an accounting firm or outsourcing environment.
• Experience managing multiple client accounts and supervising junior staff.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, Oracle or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (CIFRS for SMEs).
