Purchasing Supervisor

About the role

The Purchasing Supervisor will lead the procurement function, ensuring that all purchased goods and services meet Vespa’s premium quality standards while supporting cost efficiency and inventory reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Vendor Management – Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers, negotiate contracts and service level agreements, and conduct regular performance reviews.
• Cost Optimization – Analyze purchasing trends, lead price negotiations, implement strategic sourcing and bulk purchasing initiatives, and monitor procurement budgets.
• Inventory Control – Coordinate demand planning with warehouse and sales teams, maintain optimal stock levels, and manage reorder points and safety stock.
• Team Leadership – Supervise procurement staff, set performance objectives, conduct reviews, and foster continuous improvement.
• Quality Assurance – Ensure purchased items meet Vespa’s quality standards, conduct supplier audits, and monitor defect rates.
• Order Processing – Oversee the full procurement cycle, approve purchase orders, coordinate logistics, and maintain accurate ERP records.
• Risk Management – Identify supply risks, develop contingency plans, and ensure compliance with legal and company policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within a branded or automotive environment.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
• Ability to lead and develop a procurement team.
• Excellent analytical skills for cost optimization and inventory management.
• Knowledge of risk mitigation and compliance procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for order processing and inventory control.
