Purchasing Supervisor

About the role

The Purchasing Supervisor leads the procurement function, ensuring that all sourced goods and services meet Vespa brand standards while supporting sales and after‑sales operations. This role combines vendor management, cost optimisation, inventory control, and team leadership to drive value and maintain supply continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers; negotiate contracts, pricing and SLAs.
• Conduct regular supplier performance reviews covering quality, cost, delivery and reliability.
• Analyse purchasing trends, lead price negotiations and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to reduce total cost of ownership.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels, coordinate demand planning with warehouse and sales teams, and manage reorder points and safety stock.
• Supervise procurement staff, set performance objectives, conduct reviews and foster continuous improvement.
• Ensure purchased items meet premium quality standards; perform supplier quality audits and enforce corrective actions.
• Oversee the full procurement cycle from requisition to delivery, approve purchase orders and keep ERP data accurate.
• Identify procurement risks, develop contingency plans and ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong negotiation and vendor‑management capabilities.
• Analytical mindset with ability to drive cost‑saving initiatives.
• Leadership skills to guide and develop a procurement team.
• Excellent organizational abilities to manage inventory and order processing.
