Montessori or Early Years School Director

About the role

The Montessori or Early Years School Director will lead the establishment of EDU Early Years School, a new early childhood institution in Toul Kork, Phnom Penh. This full‑time, on‑site role guides the school from pre‑opening planning through launch and ongoing operations, shaping its educational philosophy and culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement Montessori‑based curriculum and early years programmes.
• Set classroom standards, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and schedule teaching staff.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
• Lead professional development and foster a collaborative school culture.
• Manage enrollment, admissions processes, and family communication.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and child‑safety requirements.
• Contribute to strategic planning, community engagement, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong background in early childhood or Montessori education.
• Proven experience developing curriculum for child‑centered learning environments.
• Demonstrated leadership in school operations and team management.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Early Childhood Education, or related field; Montessori certification is a plus.
• Experience establishing or launching a new school or early years programme is highly desirable.
• Deep understanding of child safety, wellbeing, and developmentally appropriate practice.
• Excellent collaboration skills with families, educators, and community stakeholders.
