Merchandiser / Purchasing (Buyer)

About the role

We are looking for a Merchandiser / Purchasing (Buyer) to drive product selection, supplier negotiations and purchasing operations for our home‑center stores in Cambodia. The role combines market research, compliance oversight and close collaboration with store teams to ensure the right products reach our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market research on retail competitors and trends to support product selection.
• Gather and analyse detailed market data to guide purchasing decisions.
• Identify, evaluate and qualify potential suppliers for competitiveness and reliability.
• Ensure all purchasing transactions are transparent, compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
• Verify supplier documentation, licenses and assess branding impact of products.
• Participate in supplier negotiations and manage administrative purchasing tasks.
• Prepare regular purchasing reports and updates for product meetings.
• Coordinate with suppliers on invoices, account setup and smooth operations.
• Collaborate with store operations to monitor product performance and sales impact.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the General Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in retail purchasing, merchandising, floor management or marketing.
• Experience with household goods, home electronics, furniture, leisure or home‑improvement categories.
• Proficiency in English for business communication.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and responsibility mindset.
• Ability to work under a foreign supervisor in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite.
