Medical Doctor (Specialist) – AI Content Reviewer (Remote Contractor)

About the role

We are seeking board‑certified or board‑eligible physicians to join SME Careers as remote, hourly contractors. In this role you will act as a Subject Matter Expert, reviewing AI‑generated clinical responses, creating gold‑standard content, and providing detailed feedback to improve the safety and accuracy of large language models.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training material by writing detailed prompts and reference answers for clinical topics within your specialty.
• Evaluate and rank AI‑generated responses for correctness, safety, clarity, and relevance.
• Identify and document errors in clinical reasoning, differential diagnosis, risk stratification, red‑flag detection, test interpretation, and treatment planning.
• Fact‑check medical information and write high‑quality explanations and model solutions.
• Test AI outputs for bias, unsafe recommendations, and reliability across diverse patient populations.

Required profile

• MD or DO (or equivalent) with completed specialty training and board eligibility or certification.
• Minimum 5 years of post‑training clinical experience in a hospital, outpatient, academic, or community setting.
• Strong expertise in advanced clinical reasoning, guideline‑based care, and patient‑safety considerations.
• Exceptional attention to detail when reviewing and fact‑checking clinical content.
