Head of Laboratory of Environment and Food Safety

About the role

The Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) is seeking a full‑time Head of Laboratory of Environment and Food Safety to lead its laboratory in Phnom Penh. This senior position provides strategic direction, scientific oversight, and operational management to ensure high‑quality testing services for environmental, food, and water safety.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary laboratory team, fostering a culture of quality, continuous improvement and scientific integrity.
• Oversee the laboratory quality management system and ensure compliance with national and international standards, including ISO/IEC 17025.
• Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods for environmental, food and water safety testing.
• Plan resources, manage budgets, and coordinate procurement of equipment and consumables.
• Engage with stakeholders, including ministries and working groups, to support public‑health surveillance and regulatory compliance.
• Promote innovation and operational efficiency within the laboratory.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in environmental science, food safety, microbiology, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing a certified laboratory, preferably ISO/IEC 17025 accredited.
• Strong leadership and team‑development skills.
• Excellent communication abilities for interaction with national authorities and international partners.
