Assistant Manager – Customer Service (Logistics)

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to lead our Customer Service team within a fast‑paced logistics environment. The role involves handling inbound inquiries, processing orders and ensuring smooth shipment flows while maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, chat regarding shipments, delivery status, rates and services.
• Process customer orders, bookings and shipment documentation, handling approximately 50 job files per month.
• Prepare and verify logistics documents such as delivery orders, invoices and shipment reports.
• Coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure seamless shipment execution.
• Track shipment status and proactively inform customers of any delays or changes.
• Resolve complaints, claims and service issues professionally and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate customer and shipment records in internal systems.
• Support the Manager in workload allocation, work planning and act as first‑level escalation point.
• Monitor vendor performance and back‑up the Manager as required.

Required profile

• Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
• Minimum 4 years of customer service experience in logistics, freight forwarding, shipping or supply chain.
• Strong understanding of logistics processes including transportation and import/export operations.
• Ability to handle customer issues under pressure with a customer‑oriented mindset.
• Good command of English in listening, reading, writing and speaking.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with logistics management systems.
