Supervisor – Research & Development (Food Industry)

About the role

The Supervisor, Research and Development leads the creation and improvement of food products, ensuring they meet customer expectations, regulatory standards, and company objectives. This role combines scientific expertise with project management to drive innovation in noodle cakes, seasoning powders, and oils.

Key responsibilities

• Perform risk assessments on ingredients, raw materials, and packaging.
• Manage product development inventories, including specifications and MSDS.
• Establish and evaluate specifications for ingredients, packaging, and finished goods to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Coordinate with suppliers for samples, testing, and technical documentation.
• Design and execute research methodologies for new recipes, aligning with quality and customer requirements.
• Develop SOPs, work instructions, and process flow standards; coach staff on these procedures.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve customer issues, conduct root‑cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
• Lead the R&D team to achieve product development goals while adhering to food laws and regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science & Technology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Agro‑Industry or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the food and beverage industry.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food regulations, nutritional labeling, and food safety systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001, GMP, and HACCP standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic statistics tools.
