R&D Manager – Construction Chemicals & Paints

About the role

The R&D Manager will lead product development from concept to market for paints, powders and construction chemicals, shaping the future of Botica Cambodia’s product portfolio. You will head a multidisciplinary team, turn market needs into innovative formulations, and ensure that new products meet quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead R&D projects from idea generation through commercialization for paints, powders and construction materials.
• Research and develop new formulations and techniques to improve quality, cost efficiency and environmental performance.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Sales and Marketing to translate market requirements into successful products.
• Oversee quality control and testing to ensure compliance with industry and safety standards.
• Build, mentor and develop a high‑performing R&D team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Material Science or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of R&D experience in construction materials, paints or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of formulation chemistry, manufacturing processes and relevant standards (ASTM, ISO, EN).
• Excellent communication skills in English and Khmer.
