Quality Control Supervisor

About the role

The Quality Control (QC) Supervisor leads the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s quality management system. The role ensures that incoming materials, warehouse stock, distribution and finished products meet the company’s safety, quality and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, maintain and improve quality management procedures, SOPs, work instructions, policies and standards.
• Oversee supplier quality, conduct incoming inspections, verify technical specifications, packaging, labeling, barcodes and batch numbers, and manage supplier performance scorecards.
• Control product quality in warehouses and retail outlets, enforce FIFO/FEFO practices, and monitor expired or damaged goods.
• Investigate quality complaints, perform root‑cause analysis, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and manage product recalls when necessary.
• Conduct regular quality audits, monitor compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and assess quality‑related risks.
• Lead, train and develop the QC team, allocate tasks, evaluate performance and promote a quality‑focused culture.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly quality reports, analyse trends, create dashboards for management and drive continuous improvement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Management, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality standards, SOPs, supplier evaluation and product recall procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency in developing and maintaining quality documentation (SOPs, work instructions).
• Experience with supplier performance assessment and CAPA implementation.
• Ability to conduct root‑cause analysis and generate actionable improvement plans.
