Deputy Manager, Legal and Compliance

About the role

The Deputy Manager, Legal and Compliance will ensure the bank adheres to all regulatory requirements in Cambodia, including those of the National Bank of Cambodia and other authorities. This position acts as the primary liaison between the bank and regulators, overseeing reporting, licensing, and compliance testing across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and implement compliance with NBC, CAFIU, MoC, SERC, and other regulatory frameworks.
• Prepare and submit periodic regulatory reports, including prudential, liquidity, CAR, FATCA, and AML/CFT filings.
• Coordinate licensing applications, product approvals, and regulatory audits.
• Review policies, contracts, and business documents for legal and compliance adequacy.
• Provide legal advice, manage disputes, and oversee corporate governance matters.
• Conduct on‑site compliance testing at head office and branches and prepare related presentations for senior committees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in legal, corporate, and regulatory compliance roles within the banking sector.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills in English.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Cambodian banking regulations, AML/CFT, data protection and corporate governance.
• Experience drafting contracts, NDAs, terms & conditions and handling regulatory correspondence.
