Deputy General Manager – New Business Promotion

About the role

Woori Bank is seeking a Deputy General Manager to lead its New Business Promotion Department. This senior position will drive the acquisition of QR payment merchants and support the bank’s growth strategy across headquarters and branch networks.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement sales initiatives, strategies and promotional campaigns to acquire QR payment merchants.
• Lead and manage the merchant acquisition sales team, ensuring performance targets are met.
• Monitor branch and CAO merchant acquisition results and collaborate with Branch Managers to improve outcomes.
• Identify and engage target customers through referrals, networking and direct outreach.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants, delivering convenient and friendly service.
• Develop business partnerships that support the merchant acquisition strategy.
• Participate in bank‑wide marketing campaigns to promote products and services.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of managerial experience in merchant acquisition, marketing, sales or branch management within a commercial bank or MDI.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and leading teams.
• Experience in sales or customer service environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, banking, marketing, sales or a related field.
