Accountant – Financial Operations

About the role

We are a professional services firm in Phnom Penh looking for a hands‑on Accountant to own our financial books from entry to month‑end close and government filing. You will work daily with our proprietary cloud finance platform, identifying issues and suggesting improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily journal entries in the internal platform.
• Reconcile bank, cash, accounts receivable and accounts payable each month.
• Execute month‑end close on a fixed calendar and produce a clear, non‑technical summary of movements.
• Maintain the Cambodian compliance calendar, prepare and submit tax filings on time.
• Package source documents for external consultants and respond promptly to their queries.
• Raise defects and improvement requests for the finance platform on a weekly basis.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of hands‑on accounting experience, including full month‑end cycles.
• Ability to explain financial numbers in plain English without repeated clarification.
• Working knowledge of Cambodian tax regulations and filing deadlines.
• Fluent in Khmer for local documentation and proficient in written English for remote collaboration.
• Proactive problem‑solver who reports issues immediately.

Required skills

• Experience with cloud‑based accounting platforms.
• Familiarity with shared storage and task‑tracking tools.
• Use of chat applications for team communication.
