Khmer Interpreter (Remote, Work from Home)

About the role

We are seeking a fluent Khmer interpreter to provide real-time interpretation for a variety of phone and video calls. The position is fully remote and requires handling medical, emergency and general service conversations with accuracy and professionalism.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consecutive interpretation between Khmer and English during phone or video calls.
• Accurately convey meaning, tone and intent in real time.
• Handle calls across sectors such as healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel, 911 emergency services, law enforcement, courts and general business.
• Process information quickly, recognise cultural differences and maintain a courteous, neutral stance.
• Use appropriate industry terminology and follow standard procedures.

Required profile

• Fluent Khmer and at least B2-level English (CEFR).
• Excellent listening, memory retention and note-taking abilities.
• Ability to stay neutral, objective and calm in sensitive or high-pressure situations.
• Strong focus, ability to follow client instructions precisely and explain cultural context when needed.
• Professional communication skills and credibility.
• Available to work permanently from home and cover night-shift hours.

Required skills

What we offer

• Training allowance of USD 625 for a three-week onboarding period.
• Basic salary of USD 1,610 per month under an ICA contract.
