Full-Stack Applied AI Engineer – Social Commerce & LLM Agents

About the role

TobSar is building AI sales agents for social‑commerce merchants in Southeast Asia. We are looking for a product‑driven Full‑Stack Applied AI Engineer to join our founding technical team in Phnom Penh and take features from design to deployment across our conversational engine, webhook integrations, and merchant portal.

Key responsibilities

• Design, test and optimise stateful multi‑turn conversational agents, prompt chains and tool‑use pipelines for order intake, pricing queries and product recommendations.
• Handle mixed‑language Khmer chat, slang, typos and informal speech to maintain high intent‑detection accuracy.
• Develop and maintain scalable backend APIs (FastAPI, Django, Node) and responsive merchant dashboards (React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS).
• Integrate high‑throughput webhooks with Facebook Graph API, Telegram Bot API and TikTok, and manage order databases.
• Implement caching, token‑budgeting and fallback routines to achieve sub‑second response times while controlling costs.
• Set up automated evaluation benchmarks, hallucination guards and deterministic verification for sensitive transactions such as stock validation and payment confirmation.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience building end‑to‑end web applications with modern frameworks.
• Practical knowledge of LLM APIs, function calling and structured generation.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑moving startup environment and collaborate closely with product and design teams.
