Agronomy Technical and Community Investment Manager

About the role

The Agronomy Technical and Community Investment Manager will provide strategic guidance and support to Cambodian authorities and Tobacco Leaf Associations, helping them achieve their collective objectives for leaf production and community investment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as liaison between JTI, authorities, communities, and leaf associations.
• Plan and coordinate model demonstration plots for Flue‑cured Virginia and Burley tobacco.
• Develop training materials to close gaps in agronomy practices.
• Implement digital systems for leaf provenance, traceability and efficiency.
• Promote Good Agricultural Practices and sustainable/regenerative agriculture principles.
• Manage trials on soil, irrigation, pest control, curing technologies and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure optimal agricultural input use and adherence to standards.
• Coordinate with JTI ESG&A teams to deliver targeted training programs.
• Conduct field training days combining practical and theoretical learning.
• Serve as main contact for growers, authorities and research institutions, ensuring technical alignment.
• Record trial data and stakeholder feedback to refine strategies.
• Design and manage community investment initiatives, including grant programs and engagement activities.
• Build stakeholder relationships and measure impact of investment programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in agricultural production (preferably tobacco) or agronomy extension services.
• Strong communication, project management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven capability to manage stakeholder relationships and work independently.
