Senior IT Governance Officer

About the role

The Senior IT Governance Officer will lead the bank’s IT governance, risk and compliance initiatives. Reporting to senior management, this role ensures that policies, standards, procedures and controls are designed, implemented and continuously monitored to protect information assets and meet regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead an assigned service, policy domain, governance workstream or monitoring portfolio.
• Draft, maintain and update policies, standards, procedures, templates and control requirements.
• Perform complex governance, risk, compliance, gap, control and root‑cause analyses.
• Plan and execute risk‑based reviews of IT practices, document findings and agree corrective actions with owners.
• Review officer work, verify evidence, provide feedback and ensure quality standards are met.
• Prepare dashboards, committee papers, decision briefs, issue summaries and regulatory evidence packs.
• Coach officers, share knowledge and maintain reference materials.
• Lead projects, policy consultations, issue resolution and improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records, protect confidential information and escalate material exceptions, disputes or risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, cybersecurity, information systems, risk, audit or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in IT governance, technology risk, compliance, audit, policy, service management or cybersecurity.
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, COBIT, ITIL, ISO/IEC 27001 or PMP are desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, responsibility and accountability.
• Ability to work collaboratively, coach others and travel frequently to branch offices.
