DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a proactive DevOps Engineer to own and professionalise the infrastructure supporting our live Laravel and Node.js products. You will transform ad‑hoc deployment and incident handling into documented, repeatable, and safe processes while working closely with backend and mobile developers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or similar).
• Document deployment procedures, infrastructure diagrams and run‑books.
• Respond to production incidents, diagnose issues using logs, resource metrics and recent changes.
• Debug application code to pinpoint problems in the code, database or infrastructure.
• Administer Linux servers (systemd, networking, permissions, disk/memory diagnostics, log analysis).
• Configure and optimise Nginx (reverse proxy, SSL termination, load balancing, caching).
• Manage Docker and Docker‑Compose multi‑service environments.
• Operate cloud/VPS providers (DigitalOcean, AWS, Vultr, Linode, etc.) and maintain PostgreSQL/MySQL databases (backups, restores, replication basics, connection‑pool tuning).
• Monitor and tune Redis, and manage CDN/WAF layers such as Cloudflare.
• Implement server hardening, SSH‑key only access, firewall rules, fail2ban, and principle‑of‑least‑privilege policies.
• Handle secrets management and credential rotation.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE or systems engineering with responsibility for a production environment.
• Proven track record of being on‑call for uptime and incident resolution.
• Background in backend development or sufficient coding experience to navigate PHP/Laravel and Node.js codebases.
• Strong Linux administration skills and deep knowledge of Nginx.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, CI/CD tools, and cloud/VPS platforms.
