Bioinformatics Research Engineer

About the role

The Institut Pasteur du Cambodge is seeking a motivated Bioinformatics Research Engineer to join its newly created Bioinformatics and AI Applications Unit. You will apply bioinformatics, data science, and AI techniques to analyse biological sequences related to infectious disease research.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines for sequence analysis.
• Apply machine‑learning and AI methods to extract insights from genomic data.
• Collaborate with scientists to integrate computational results into public‑health research projects.
• Maintain and optimise code bases, ensuring reproducibility and scalability.
• Document workflows and contribute to scientific publications.

Required profile

• University degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in research environments.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
• Eligibility to work in Cambodia (Cambodian citizen or foreigner already residing in Cambodia).
