E-Payment Settlement & Dispute Officer

About the role

The E‑Payment Settlement & Dispute Officer is responsible for managing the end‑to‑end settlement, reconciliation and dispute processes for card‑based payment transactions. The role ensures accurate clearing of ATM and card payments, timely resolution of merchant and cardholder issues, and compliance with payment scheme rules.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and handle reconciliation, settlement and clearing of ATM, card payment schemes, cardholder and merchant transactions.
• Resolve cardholder and merchant disputes efficiently and within defined timelines.
• Maintain control over settlement, dispute resolution and clearing activities.
• Ensure card operations comply with payment scheme rules, procedures and policies.
• Oversee posting and analysis of settlement data for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and closing.
• Conduct testing and walkthrough sessions with development and testing teams, reviewing test cases.
• Collaborate with external gateways and card payment schemes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Banking, Finance or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in e‑payment settlement, dispute resolution or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of reconciliation, settlement, dispute resolution and clearing house methodologies.
• Excellent numerical ability and knowledge of accounting standards, recording and reporting.
• Proficient English communication skills (speaking, writing and listening).
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and as part of a team.
