Site Manager – Construction Site Supervision

About the role

The Site Manager will be the on‑site representative of the company, ensuring that all construction activities are executed safely, on schedule, and in full compliance with approved drawings, method statements and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily site activities and subcontractors, guaranteeing work follows approved drawings, method statements and the project schedule.
• Monitor manpower, equipment and productivity, enforcing proper resource utilisation.
• Supervise subcontractors to ensure correct staffing, quality workmanship and appropriate equipment usage; reject any non‑compliant work immediately.
• Coordinate closely with the Site Engineer to prepare work checks, daily reports and documentation.
• Control quality (QA/QC) by verifying materials, installations and finishes, and by coordinating inspections and testing.
• Enforce strict safety standards, including PPE use, safe work methods and hazard control; stop unsafe work without delay.
• Track progress versus plan, identify issues and risks, and submit regular reports to the Project Manager.
• Maintain site records, inspection logs and material approvals for audit readiness.
• Resolve site issues promptly and escalate critical problems to ensure uninterrupted work flow.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience supervising construction sites, preferably on subcontractor‑heavy, government or infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors, enforce contract terms and maintain high quality standards under pressure.

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and QA/QC processes.
• Experience in subcontractor management and contract enforcement.
