About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Shelter Assistant to join the Whidbey Homeless Coalition team. Our team is dedicated to serving our community by providing compassionate, safe shelter options, and we strive to treat every guest that comes through our doors with respect and kindness, always with a smile. In this role you will help ensure a welcoming environment for all guests.
Key responsibilities
- Offer shelter services that prioritize safety and compassion.
- Greet guests and treat each individual with respect and kindness.
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere, always wearing a friendly smile.
- Assist with day‑to‑day shelter operations as needed.
- Support guests during check‑in and check‑out processes.
- Help keep common areas clean and orderly.
Required profile
- Strong commitment to serving people experiencing homelessness.
- Respectful, kind and compassionate attitude.
- Positive demeanor and ability to keep a smile while working.
- Willingness to work as part of a team that values community service.
