Senior Trade Finance Operations Officer

About the role

The Senior Trade Finance Operations Officer is responsible for processing trade finance transactions, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and international regulations, and supporting the smooth operation of the bank's trade finance desk. The role also includes mentoring new team members and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and verify all trade finance documents from sales and relationship teams.
• Conduct documentary examination and validate documents before processing.
• Enter transaction data accurately into the bank’s systems.
• Confirm terms and conditions with the Credit Operations team for loan drawdowns.
• Obtain facility confirmations from Credit/Legal before executing transactions.
• Screen transactions for compliance with the bank’s trade finance procedures.
• Monitor outstanding transactions and follow up to close cases.
• File customer portfolios and perform quality assurance after each transaction.
• Prepare daily and monthly reports in a timely manner.
• Participate in system‑related projects and provide operational support.
• Communicate with clients to collect documents and sustain relationships.
• Guide and train new staff on system usage and operational guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• At least two years of experience in trade finance operations or a similar area.
• Strong knowledge of UCP, URDG, ISP and other trade finance regulations.
• Excellent task and time management abilities.
• Effective communication, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
• Fluency in Khmer and English; Chinese is a plus.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
