Purchasing Supervisor

About the role

The Purchasing Supervisor leads the hotel’s procurement function, ensuring that all goods and services are sourced efficiently, cost‑effectively, and to the required quality standards. This position works closely with internal departments and external suppliers to keep the supply chain running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and supervise daily operations of the Purchasing Department.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best price, quality and delivery terms.
• Prepare and process purchase orders in line with departmental requests and budget approvals.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing and supplier performance.
• Coordinate with Receiving, Store and Finance teams to ensure seamless supply‑chain operations.
• Conduct market surveys to stay updated on pricing trends and new suppliers.
• Develop and maintain an approved vendor list and periodically evaluate supplier performance.
• Prepare purchasing reports such as price comparisons, cost‑savings and supplier performance for management.
• Supervise, train and support purchasing staff.
• Assist in budget preparation and cost‑control initiatives related to procurement.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Purchasing Supervisor or Senior Purchasing role, preferably within hospitality.
• Strong negotiation and vendor‑management capabilities.
• Good knowledge of purchasing procedures, market pricing and supply‑chain processes.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, able to handle multiple requests simultaneously.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Honest, trustworthy and capable of handling confidential financial information.
