Procurement Supervisor – Construction

About the role

The Procurement Supervisor – Construction oversees all purchasing activities for construction projects, ensuring that materials, equipment, tools and services are sourced locally and internationally, delivered on time, and meet quality and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the procurement team to maintain efficient operations.
• Manage the end‑to‑end procurement cycle from requisition to delivery and project hand‑over.
• Identify, evaluate and qualify local and overseas suppliers for construction‑related items.
• Review project specifications, BOQs, drawings and schedules to align procurement with project needs.
• Prepare quotations, conduct cost analyses and negotiate prices, payment terms, lead times, warranties and delivery conditions.
• Negotiate and administer contracts while safeguarding the company’s commercial interests.
• Coordinate with Project, Site, Engineering, Warehouse, Finance and other departments to ensure seamless delivery.
• Develop procurement plans that match project timelines and prevent material shortages.
• Monitor supplier production, shipment and delivery schedules, especially for imported goods.
• Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delays, specifications, quantity, pricing or payment.
• Maintain supplier performance scorecards covering quality, cost, delivery and compliance.
• Identify supply‑chain risks and create contingency plans.
• Track market trends, price fluctuations and supplier capacity to support purchasing decisions.
• Ensure all purchase orders, contracts and related documents are properly approved and recorded.
• Measure procurement KPIs such as cost savings, price variance, on‑time delivery and supplier performance.
