Montessori Lead Teacher

About the role

EDU Early Years School Phnom Penh is seeking a dedicated Montessori Lead Teacher to guide a classroom of early years learners. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on delivering child‑centered, Montessori‑aligned education in a newly built school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement Montessori‑aligned lessons and activities.
• Prepare and maintain an engaging learning environment.
• Facilitate individual and small‑group work that supports each child’s development.
• Observe, document, and assess student progress, adjusting materials as needed.
• Manage daily classroom routines, ensuring safety and wellbeing.
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues on school‑wide initiatives and participate in meetings, professional development, and school events.

Required profile

• Proven Montessori teaching skills for early years learners.
• Strong observation, documentation, and assessment abilities.
• Excellent communication in spoken and written English.
• Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to build positive relationships in a multicultural setting.
• Preferred: recognized Montessori certification or diploma; a bachelor’s degree in Education or related field is a plus.
• Experience in early childhood or Montessori settings and a commitment to inclusive, non‑discriminatory practices.
• Adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and a growth mindset with willingness for ongoing professional development.
• High standards of professionalism, reliability, and adherence to child safeguarding policies.
