Loan Recovery Supervisor

About the role

The Loan Recovery Supervisor leads a team of loan recovery officers to manage overdue loan portfolios, ensuring timely settlements of defaulted loans and non‑performing loans (NPL). The role combines operational oversight, coaching, and strategic coordination with lending teams to meet recovery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Directly supervise loan recovery personnel, planning daily operations and monitoring performance.
• Allocate defaulted loans/NPL to senior officers and recovery officers according to bank policies.
• Design work schedules, assign duties, and conduct regular coaching and performance reviews.
• Provide training on internal loan recovery procedures and lead regular team meetings.
• Document meeting minutes, track action items, and ensure follow‑up.
• Continuously review team performance, offering immediate feedback and additional coaching where needed.
• Oversee quarterly performance ratings and prepare accurate comments for line managers.
• Monitor case settlements, generate reports for senior management, and suggest process improvements.
• Conduct onsite visits with team members to resolve complex client cases.
• Collaborate closely with the lending team to understand case details and facilitate successful recoveries.
• Escalate unresolved issues to higher management and maintain a productive, “speak‑up” culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, banking, or a related field.
• Proven experience supervising loan recovery or collections teams.
• Strong understanding of loan recovery policies, NPL management, and banking regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
