Laboratory Technician

About the role

The Laboratory Technician will provide technical and operational support to staff, projects and government partners, focusing on diagnosis, quality assurance and laboratory‑related activities. The role involves implementing strategic initiatives, producing technical reports and supporting project evaluation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and guidance to ensure alignment with project outcomes and strengthen laboratory systems.
• Monitor and maintain project protocols, instruments, data sets, manuals and training materials, and prepare related technical reports.
• Develop technical briefs, reports and other materials to inform research, best practices and policies.
• Analyze project implementation to identify improvement areas in laboratory diagnosis and quality assurance, and propose technical strategies.
• Coordinate and lead technical project activities, assist with work‑plan development, monitoring and supervision.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and papers summarizing project results and analysis.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in public health, medical laboratory or related health field; Project Management certification preferred.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in laboratory management, data collection and technical assistance.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory systems, quality assurance standards and project management principles.

Required skills

• Laboratory diagnostic techniques and quality assurance (QA) procedures.
• Data analysis and technical reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluent in English and Khmer.
